To me it’s very interesting, I don’t know about you.
Just look and listen to it and add it to everything you have heard until now. Don’t try to imagine these things or to create a visual image of it, because our way of looking at the universe is still too limited to do that. Try to see it in a more abstract way.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5601491934104934085&q=reality

Now it’s time to look at something that is perhaps a little bit less scientific then what we had until now, but keep an open mind about it. Just one thing before you look at this one: look at the professions of some of the people speaking here: some of them are scientists too.

If you are able to believe this, it might change your life completely, at least perhaps your vision on live and your existence: It’s called The Secret

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9094495877043058463&q=secret

-----------------to be continued------------------------------------
<!--

I mean: the viewer makes particles change their behaviour... Think about that.

This is a long one about zero point energy (so far the old science laws):

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8943205214784769158&q=what+the+bleep+do+we+know

As you can see, you should not trust the official viewpoints about anything, but it's smarter to do your own research. When governements talk about protecting the environment and they also know that there are a lot of people researching clean energy, even free energy for everyone, and not only that: some of then have results too, why don't they put a lot of money in this research, but instead of that make those people's lives miserable?

Just think about that...

----------------------to be continued--------------------------------
<!--

I can’t keep repeating everything.
Until now we saw:
-reality isn’t what it seems
-modern science is discovering that the universe is like a hologram, where every part (even the smallest) has the information of and communicates with the totality.
-There are more than 3 dimensions
-Observers (that’s us too) always influence reality (science says that)
-the universe is not causal, but synchronical and time is just an illusion

When we think about everything modern science shows us about the universe, we should realize that moderns science and what we used to call “occult” knowlegde and the old ways of the shaman or the beliefs of the aboriginals or hopi-indians and whatever so called primitive belief system you might have heard of, are not so far apart as we originally thought.

Things like astrology and fortune telling always were looked upon as nonsense and there really are a lot of imposters there, but ther are also a lot of economic imposters and that doesn’t mean that such thing as economy doesn’t exist.

But if we come to the conclusion that our universe is one big hologram and can be influenced by thoughts (like positive thinking goeroes tell you all the time), what would be impossible then?

Why would the miracles stop with Jesus Christ? He said that we would do the same things he did and even bigger. When we think that our saints from the past (in the Catholic church) could do miracles, why would that not be happening now? I’m sure that every religion has stories about miricles in the past, but most of them don’t acknowledge that they happen now too. Is that because modern science always has tried to prove those ideas wrong (There is no God and so on). Well, science is coming closer to discovering miracles now and even measuring them in their research.

Just read this article to see what science says. I know it is a site about all kinds of occult theories, but this article is very clear and if you don’t believe what it says, you can search the names of the scientists mentioned in the article to check if it’s true or nonsense:

http://www.crystalinks.com/holographic.html

-----------------------to be continued-------------------------------
<!--

It’s just nice, but you can also see how our perception can mislead us:
http://www.michaelbach.de/ot/

We always thought that our universe is logic and causal, that means that there are causes and results. Mostly, in ordinary situations, we find this to be true, but sometimes things happen that seem to point in another direction, or at least keep the possibility open that there are some other possibilities.

The famous Dr Carl Jung, psychologist and psychiatrist, had some intriguing thoughts about this:

http://fusionanomaly.net/mysteryofchance.html

http://www.strangemag.com/mysteryofchance.html

Because of the “programs” in our brain (we never ask ouselves if some beliefs we have are true and why we think they are) we tend to accept only what is logical and fits our expectations. Every “strange” thing (some would call it a glimps into another reality) that happens to us just makes us wonder a very small instant and then we forget it.

I don’t want to push you in some direction. I personally don’t believe that there is a theory, scientifically or spiritually, that explains everything. That’s why I keep an open mind and just gather information for myself. I never say that something is impossible. That’s what you should do too. Not jump on everything that is new and intriguing, but neither cling to a belief-system, just because you are afraid to let it go.

Just be relaxed and see what the world has to offer and also the internet. Follow your intuition and trust that you will understnad the important things in due time, when you are ready for it.

Read this:
http://www.plim.org/Synchro2.html
------------------to be continued-------------------------------------
<!--

Look here:

http://www.iwpd.org/page3.html
http://www.iwpd.org/page4.html

I don’t say that this is it, but you can see how scientists think about reality nowadays. Doesn’t quit comply wit your everyday common sense does it? It might get you thinking about our “common sense”. To understand the universe and even our common day live, you have to rethink what you always saw as normal, logical etc.

Don’t worry: I don’t understand the sites above either and I’m not going to read the book.
I like mathematics and science, but it’s only using our left hemisphere of the brain. Don’t get me wrong: the left hemisphere is very important, because it lets us be more conscious and plan our actions. Without it we would walk around the earth like in a dream. I even think that people with mental disabilities like some forms of autism, down’s syndrom and so on have a good brain, but the cooperation between left and right might be disturbed . That’s why a lot of these people have astonishing capabilities (like photographic memory, some autists can do math as fast as a computer without even thinking about it). There are also people that seem to function quite normal, but they don’t have any empathy and they can’t imagine that other people have feeling too.

What I wanted to say is that we should learn how to use our right hemisphere too, while our left-hemisphere-oriented society shows us now that there is more that we can comprend only with the thinking we are used to.

A lot of artists (right hemisphere) like fractals: there are a lot of sites where artists show their art, base on mathematics. Fractals are interesting, because they give us a feeling of eternity.

http://spanky.triumf.ca/www/fractint/fractint.html

Explore this one, perhaps you can also find other places on the net and download programs, where you can explore them yourself. You can do that too with fractint, but I’ve seen nicer programs, I just don’t know exactly where at the moment.

---------------------to be continued-----------------------------------

==================================================

What I have said until now is a good start to go looking for yourself. From now on I will just give some directions for self-study.

This site is interesting to get to know a little bit more about chaos theory:

http://mail.colonial.net/~abeckwith/chaos.html

You have to get into that, at least if you persist on searching for the truth yourself. If you hate mathematics and physics, you can’t get the insight that even science today is going spiritual.

Quantum physics and biology:

http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/quantum_biology/

http://www.nanoword.net/library/weekly/aa062500c.htm

Now just a few questions to think about:

- Why does time go in the direction it goes now? If it would go in the other direction, think about how physical lawas would be then...
- If there was a big bang in the beginning starting in one very small point, into what did it explode then?
- Our universe seems to be expanding...into what space?
- If life developed according to evolution theory, how could systems develop like the cooperation of insects and plants without any intelligence behind it?
- If everything was created instantly, were the dynosaurs there too at that time and why did the plant and animal life change during time?

Just questions, no answers from me....just to start thinking...

Only math and physics? Go here and have a look at art:

http://www.harvardmagazine.com/on-line/0101122.html

http://www.chaos-works.com/gallery.html

----------------------------------to be continued----------------------
<!--

It looks more like magic. It even states that the observer influences the experiment just by observing (take this one in!!!)

My statement that modern science is proving that a lot of what the old folks said is no crap and that magic really exists can really shock you, but even when you come to see it, it’s still difficult to realize that all the time. Your brainwashing by the media and education and society has been too effective as to get rid of it soon.

All this suggests that it is important to change our way of thinking, our way of looking at reality. For instance: we think in terms of cause – result, good – bad, guilt – punishment.

The last two are philosophical questions, but the first one seems to be wrong: science starts to show that our universe is not causal at all: it just looks to us that way. Even time is an illusion.
Well, what is it then? There are a lot of religious and spiritual sites that try to answer that question, but as to science it seems that at least synchronicity plays an important part. That means that there is not such thing as coincidence or luck or bad luck: it all comes forth from a kind of more-dimensional matrix where everything is connected and things just seem to happen just as you think they should happen. So if you believe that all coincidences have some special meaning, you are going to see more of these amazing coincidences.

Oh boy, where do we get now? According to a lot of old cultures, there is not so much difference between our life during times we are awake and ou dreams. Some of them even say that the dream is the reality and what we see as reality is in reality a dream.

I leave you now with this thought. Just see wh you do with it. I only want you to go study for yourself and not believe anybody. Now we have the internet, we are free to investigate and have our own opinion.

-----------------------------to be continued---------------------------
<!--

Why do we believe that the indians just were superstitious? Why don’t we want to listen to the aboriginals and old African tribes? Becaue they all didn’t achieve the technological standard we have nowadays?

Why don’t we believe the myths about Atlantis and other lost civilizations, that were ahead of us technologically (at least that’s what myths tell us).

Well that is because our brains are filled with programs that are put in there by our parents and the modern society and we are not willing to give those programs up, because we think that that is who we are.

There are only two rules to grow mentally and spiritualy: (1) never follow a guru or other leader, no matter how smart he/she is and (2) whenever you want to judge somebody or something (even yourself), stop for a minute and think about why you want to pass that judgement (but think really good). What’s the reason beyond you judgement? If you get to know yourself this way, you will, layer by layer, break down the prejudices (programs) you have in your mind and start to see things differently. This will take a very long time.To break down the false programs in your brain will take approximately just as long as it took to put them there.

If you have problems with accepting the direction that science is going, think about this: why do so many people enjoy movies like The Matrix, Enterprise, Harry Potter, Lord of the ring, fairy tales, and all kind of mysteries if it’s all nonsens. Where is this 4, 5, 6 and so on dimension? Well you visit hem every night in your dreams. Well dreams are nonsens, aren’t they? But in our dreams we don’t think it’s nonsens. We are just as sure that what we see is right as when we are awake.

But in our dreams we make things up and then they happen. And how about our “real” reality? Lets look at some science again:

Bell’s theorem

You can read all about this on these sites (heavy stuff):

http://www.ncsu.edu/felder-public/kenny/papers/bell.html
http://www.halexandria.org/dward151.htm

You can also type in a search machine Bell and theorem and find other articles.
In short you can read here that elementary particles seem to communicate with each other in some way, faster than the speed of light (i.e. instantaneously) even over great distances and this connection is non-local. In plain English: all paricles seem to be connected in some way, (or everything is one?...where did we hear that before?)

--------------------------to be continued-------------------------------
<!--

The discovery of the structure of organic molecules e.g. came to the scientist through a dream....
The chemist Friedrich August Kekulé Stradonitz was the first to deduce the ring structure of benzene; after years of studying carbon bonding, benzene and related molecules, the solution to the benzene structure came to him in a dream of a snake eating its own tail.

The Golden mean or Golden section is allready used for millennia by constructors and artists, because it is believed to be a holy ratio.

If you make a rectangle where the ratio of the length and the height represents the golden ratio, artists and architects always believed it to be an ideal form. This ratio is also called phi.

But the most astonishing thing is: you can find this ratio everywhere in nature and also in our body. There are lots of websites where you can find examples of this.Type in "phi" in a search machine (Google e.g.) you find a lot about this like:

http://goldennumber.net/

http://www.mcs.surrey.ac.uk/Personal/R.Knott/Fibonacci/phi.html

and so on.

On these sites you also find something about the Fibonacci numbers. When they say that e.g. the spiral of a snale house is spiralled according to the golden ratio, that is not totally true. In fact it is spiralled according to the Fibonacci numbers. This is true, because a spiral according to the golden ratio would be infinite inward too and that does not fit in our 3d-world. Fibonacci numbers start with 1-1-2-3-5-8 and after a while the series approaches the golden-mean-numbers enough to look almost the same. Just go on reading about it: it is very interesting.

Plato stated that the way we see the reality is like people in a cave, looking at the wall and only seeing shadows of the real objects. So, accoring to him, we don't see reality, just a shadow. Isn't that a bit like what modern science tells us? On the level of quantumphysics, thing are totally different from what we would expect. I encourage everyone, not to believe what I'm telling you: just do your own research through internet (in the search machines e.g.).

-------------------------to be continued---------------------------------------

<!--

Is this guy getting nuts? He never listened to my wife or husband, you will say. No, I am nuts for quite a while allready. Doesn’t it say in the bible somewhere that out of the mouth of fools and children comes truth? Well, ask a child if lepricorns exist. It will say yes. Ask me: I say yes too. See, that’s the proof. (just kidding, at least I hope).

And about the wife or husband: listen to them once in a while, just for fun. You never know, you might learn something.

In the nineties I heard scientists declare on tv that Star Trek was a nice series, but things like warp drive and beaming people to other places would never be possible. Not to speak about wormholes.
Well now in the meantime they changed their minds. Now they at least see the possibility that in the future we will find means to travel faster than light by using wormholes or some kind of warp drive (warp means that a spaceship bends the universe in such a way that the ship can reach its destination much faster) or even by switching dimensions!! Nobody can do that yet, but at least there are scientists that think it might be possible one day. And science fiction writers are sure it will be possible some day.

This brings us to my initial statement in this part: People are not able to think something that is totally nonsense. Some science fiction stories and also some mythical stories are so succesfull, because the readers or viewers sense that there is some truth in it. Not totally, but enough to be recognizable. What drives writers and artists is a feeling, an idea that keeps coming to them. Nobody knows where these ideas come from. Perhaps from some kind of subconscious knowledge? Or according to some quantum mechanics scientists: people’s thoughts have an influence on reality. So if enough people would believe that something is possible, perhaps it would become possible. They started discovering strange particles like quarks not so long after theoretical physicists mathematically had computed that these parts should exist to complement their system.

BIOLOGY

What about biology? We don’t have the slightest clou what makes living things live. What gives us our conscience? How can a simple cell function?
Nevertheless, everytime some tribe in some not yet explored corner of the earth states that there lives a species nobody has ever seen, biologists are the first ones to explain that that is impossible. They only are willing to investigate that (except some real pioneers, who are looked upon as a little bit weird by their collegues) if it is almost sure that it is true. So what may people like that tell us about real life? Our body functions like a hologram. Every part of our body, every cell has the entire dna-code of the whole human race in it. So theoretically your hand has the information to become a heart. But it doesn’t. Nobody can explain why. As long as science as we know it exists, scientists of all kind and especially biologists have tried to prove that our body is just a sophisticated machine and our brain only a sophisticated computer. But they didn’t succeed. As we saw earlier, computer technology has made it possible to show us that we are all a little bit clairvoyant, be it only in a fraction of a second (see the experiment I mentioned earlier). Even the CIA seems to have trained people to mentally look at places far away for being able to spy the “enemy” whoever that might be (they call that “distant viewing”). Our knowledge of the human body and other life forms is developing. Who knows what we might discover not long from now.

Think about this: you know that you exist, but there’s no way to be sure that the rest of the people really exist. I think that they exist because they tell me so, but I can’t prove it. I even can’t be sure that the color green you see looks the same as mine. Even worse: I can’t be sure that seeing is the same for you as it is for me. Stupid? Well under certain circumstances (drugs e.g.) people can experience hearing colors or tasting sounds. There’s even a disorder that does that: it’s called synestesia. Just type the word “synestesia” in a search engine and see what you get. So much about our senses. The senses are no objective instruments: they only give us electrical signals. In our brain these are processed, but only our mind makes something out of it that makes sense to us.

Well, while you are in a search enige, type in the word “apoptosis”. You will see that our body dies every day a little bit. Our cells kill themselves (suicide) as soon as they get the apropriate signal. All our cells do that. Some cells live very shortly (e.g. our skin cells and our stomach cells). Are these cells stupid? No, it is necessary to live on (so death is a means of living on). There are some “smart” cells that refuse to die: cancer cells. So that means that our entire body dies within a few years and new cells take the place of the other ones. Then how is it possible that we stay the same person? Do we? Are you the same person you were ten years ago? Or as a child? No you are not. But we have the feeling that we stay the same all the time.
Couldn’t it then be possible that we ourselves only die to live on? Like changing channel on you tv-set? Scientists and “realistic people” want prove before they believe that. But how can we prove something like that if our only connection to our “reality” are our senses? Because even when we use instruments, we need our senses to read them. Think about the possibilities of hypnosis and suggestion. If e.g. a person is told several times a day from several people that he doesn’t look healthy that day, he might start feeling a little ill after a while.

When a scientist states that something is impossible, think about this: every scientist is always wrong, because a hundred years from now, I don’t know where we are then or how technology looks, but I know one thing: everything we believe now will only be good for a laughter in a primary school class.
Scientists mostly don’t really want to change what they’ve learned in their university years, because it cost them a lot of energy and work to get where they are. How would you like it when you studied 5 or 6 years and then worked hard for another 10 years to discover that you have to reconsider everything you have believed in and worked for all those years. Only strange people like real pioneers and visonaires and driven people are crazy enough to enjoy investigating something totally new and giving up everything they knew until that time.

------------------------to be continued----------------------------------
<!--

Well, look at this one, a logical sequence you probably allready heard of:

A train in motion is trying to pass a biker that is much slower. Let’s suppose they both travel at a constant speed. The train is faster than the biker. At a certain time the front of the train reaches the back of the biker. Now let’s look what happens.
During the time the front of the train needs to get to the place where the front of the biker was when the train reached the back of the biker, the biker has mover forward a little bit. Now the train has to catchup that little bit, but in the time it takes to get there, the biker has moved again. And the same goes for a third time. I can go on forever this way.

That would mean that according to logic the train never can pass the biker. We know however that trains past bikers. So much for our logic (and the Vulcan way of life from Startrek).

A mathematician would say: seen that been there, so what, it just is a limit. We see those a lot in math.
Yeah, that’s true, but my left hemisphere keeps telling me: why do we encounter a limit here? Where’s the mistake in my reasoning?

The answer might be this: As long as time is flowing like water (or we move through time in a linear way) the logical sequence above is correct: the train doesn’t pass the biker. But what if we travel through time in very tiny bits, not fluently but like an old fashioned movie, in little separate bits. The movie looks fluently to us and time would also if the bits would be small enough. In this case the train would pass the biker, because at a certain time the distance it had to catch up with would be so small that at the next point in time it would allready have passed the biker.

Another question perhaps to think about: when we move through time, at what velocity do we do that? If we wanted to measure our movement through time, we would need another “time line” to compare or measure our speed through time. Are you expecting an answer to this? Forget it, I don’t know. The only thing I can say: apparently the laws we know so good change at this level of existence. The consequence of this would be that everytime we encounter some unexplainable boundary, we should realize that there’s also something beyond that boundary. Yeah, I know that science is progressing and there will be a time that they can explain this, but I’m sure there will be a new boundary then, unexplainable. Logic places us before more of these questions. If you’re interested, type in “logic” in a search machine and explore for yourself. You can also try typing in “fuzzy logic” – that’s interesting too.

I hesitated before telling you this, because I couldn’t find it on the internet yet. I once saw a program on discovery channel about an experiment some scolar took (I don’t remember the name), where he tried to test the reactions of people to pictures. He showed them pictures of nice things and pictures of nasty things and they had to push a button to express how they felt. This research had nothing to do with clearvoyance or other esp-phenomena. After a while (because the research was done on a computer), he discovered that the people he was testing clicked the key a fraction of a second before (yes, before) the actual picture was produced by the computer (the pictures were shown randomly).
So the only conclusion here is: apparently the test persons knew the picture allready a fraction of a second before it was produced. It seemed to happen with every test person.
That would mean that every human “travels” through time, not bit by bit (time point by time point), but with a few points at a time, so we can look into the future a little bit. That would explain why we ar conscious: mathematics show us that a point is nothing. Travelling from one time-nothing to the next would probably not get through to our conscience. I know this isn’t very scientific what I’m telling you, but I just am doing my best. If we have to wait for science to get through all this by doing “scientific” experiments, we will have to wait just a little bit longer than our curiosity would allow us.
And thinking about the possibilities keeps us busy.

CHANCE

Well here we have something mathematics can tell us all about and logic does too. I’m not into this very deeply, just having a few thoughts about it.
If I throw a dice, what’s my chance to get a 1? Yes 1 to 6. If I got a 3, what’s the chance I throw a 1 at the next throw? Right, still 1 to 6. What I know for certain is, if I throw the same dice one million times, I will have an almost equal amount of 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and 6’s
No problem, logic. But when every throw of a dice gives an equal chance of throwing a certain number (the chance does not get bigger, because I just threw another number), how does the universe or the goddes of chance or who or whatever makes the numbers come up equally distributed, know what numbers have been there allready? What is the mechanism behind this all? There’s no computer running the universe. I don’t know, I just wonder.
Another example: nuclear decay. If you have e.g. plutonium, it looses its radioactivity through time. That goes very slowly, but it decays in a strange way.
It has a certain fixed time to loose half of its radiactivity. It’s called half-time. As an exemple:
In 4.5 billion years, half of the 238U on Earth will have decayed into other elements. If you’re intersted you can find something here: http://www.lbl.gov/abc/Basic.html#Gammadecay
That’s strange: how does a certain atom know it has to decay, if it doesn’t communicate with the others? How is it possible that there is something like half-time if atoms are decaying at random? Don’t expect an answer from me, the only conlusion I get when thinking about these things is: there are some strange things happening, or with Shakepeare: there is more between heaven and earth than …..

-------------------------to be continued---------------------------------------
<!--

You’ll get an overview over physics from the Newton mechanics through Einsteins theory of relativity, quantum mechanics and the newest: the super string theory. Don’t be afraid: you don’t have to do a lot of mathematics, you only get the conclusions and believe me, they are astonishing enough.

The elegant universe

And…did you get it? For the people who didn’t succeed in going through all of it, here are some conclusions:

1. If we look at the universe on a big scale, we see that some strange things happen:
The speed of light is the fastest we can travel (when we travel the way we know it, that means by pushing ourselves through 3d-space)
When our velocity is very high, time slows down and our mass gets bigger.
2. If we look at the universe on a tiny scale, some other strange things happen:
Matter seems not very stable: we can’t define it exactly. An electron e.g. is defined by three means: (direction of spin, velocity and place). You can’t know them all three together: you can only measure two of them and the third is then not measurable.
Another thing: matter is able to pass through other matter. And our thoughts seem to have some influence on the matter, especially when we try to influence chance. In fact: matter only exists when we look at it.
The universe at this level shows properties of a hologram. That means that the information of the whole universe is also present in every part of it (like the properties of the whole human body is also present in the dna of each cell. The only way to unite these two theories is super string theory. But that would mean that matter and energy and even gravity are the same: they consist of tiny pieces (strings or circles or whatever) pure energy. That would also mean that there are at least 10 dimensions and every part of matter or energy (also the building blocks of our body) vibrate in these 10 dimensions.
Getting a little dizzy? Don’t be alarmed: the scientists can’t imagine it either. Their mathematics and measurements just tell them it has to be this way. Sounds a lot like the magic of fairy tales, doesn’t it?

And then look at this one. This is really good: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-539383790954785832&q=what+the+bleep+do+we+know&pr=goog-sl

You can watch the video (1,5 hrs) online or download it (you also have to download google's videoplayer then).

CHAOS

Now we proceed to another science: mathematics (oh boy). Everybody knows what chaos is, right? It is the opposite of order, right? Wrong…It’s not that simple.
First go and have a look at some sites. It might be a little difficult, because it involves math, but just read what they state, you don’t need to exactly follow the mathematical part.

http://www.mathjmendl.org/chaos/
http://hypertextbook.com/chaos/

If you really rediscovered your love for mathematics, just type in “chaos” or “fractals” into a search machine and you get a lot of sites. For now however I can repeate some statements you just read about:

A chaotic system can actually evolve in a way that appears to be smooth and ordered. Very tiny causes can evolve into huge changes and results.
Physicists know that it (chaos) is very widespread and may even be the norm in the universe.
The presence of chaos in physics is what gives the universe its "arrow of time", the irreversible flow from the past to the future.
Fractals are figures that develop from simple formula’s that iterate, that means that the outcome of one iteration is the input in the next one (the same formula as the first time).
Fractals are infinite: you can go on calculating, no matter how deep you go into the figure.
And also very important: mathematicians work with numbers that, according to our logic, don’t exist: √-1 doesn’t exist in our world, but when you multiply it by itself, the outcome is –1 and that number does exist. Strange?
We just had an example of imaginary numbers, numbers that don’t really exist in our 3d-world, like the square root of a negative number.

There are also numbers that really exist in our 3d-world, but you can’t exactly determine them. How much is exactly √2 or √3? Even with the most powerfull computers they were not abel to calculate these exactly: the amount of numbers after the point never seems to end. The same goes for numbers like π and the golden section (Φ).
All these really exist, but can not be pinpointed exactly. Nevertheless they are used by nature to build circles, spiral forms for snales etc. (for interested people: http://goldennumber.net/).

-----------------------to be continued-----------------------------------------
<!--

Do you know what that is? Well, everybody knows, isn’t it? No, the problem is: almost nobody knows.

Let’s look at science. Yes, let’s stay scientific. Ever heard of chaos-theory, quantum-mechanics and chance? Well untill you know what that is, you don’t know anything about reality, about our universe and our plain of existence.

Let’s start with some questions:

Did you ever ask yourself how big the universe is? No? Well, ask yourself. Perhaps you know that astronomers measured that the universe is expanding and it does so at an increasing speed.Wow. Do you realize what that means? First of all: expanding into what? If our3-D-universe expands, it has to expand into something. Well I know astronomers and mathematicians talk about a fourth and a fifth and even more dimensions andI’m sure they’re right, but that doesn’t answer our question: it only shifts the problem to something else.

Then again the question: how big is the universe. We are realists, right? We only believe what we see, right? Ok, let’s do an experiment, an experiment in our thoughts. Imagine computertechnology is advanced enormously in the future. We have developed a virtual reality technology far beyond what we have now: supercomputers, a helmet that has direct contact with your brain and programs that don’t produce blue screens anymore. If you put on one of these helmets, it automatically turns off you memory and connects you to the virtual reality in the chip. The program is developed in such a way, that it produces whatever you think (like in a dream). You don’t remember who you were, you come into a world and think that’s the real universe and somewhere in your brain (your subconscience) there is a memory of gravity and some physical laws. As soon as you come into that world, you experience gravity and you think that’s normal and even neverconsider it could be different. Perhaps at some time you would think: it would be nice if I could fly and why would I not be able to fly? I never understood gravity anyway and at that moment, o miracle, you start to levitate, because you think it might be possible.

But no, that would be a lonely world, so we connect some more people to that computer and suddenly you are not alone in that universe. But you will never be able to fly again, because everytime you think it might be possible, the other people still believe it can’t be done and the program has to react to the thought impulses of the people and the non-believers are in the majority, so a good democratic program will not let you fly. You tell them it must be possible, but they don’t believe that and they tell you to get a life and act normal, because if you believe you can fly, you can never be president or something else that really matters. If you could get them to believe it, you would show them.

But now another question: because you believe you’re in the real world, you start investigating this universe and everytime you look a little further, the computer creates that part of the universe you are studying, accordingly to what you and the other people believe. How big is this universe? As big as you can think: as soon as you invent a telescope in that artificial universe, the computer program creates what you expect to see, as long as it doesn’t differ too much with what the other people in your computer universe think. But it also fits in a chip not larger than your thumbnail.

Now believe it or not, there are people that think that our own, real universe works in the same way. Nonsense? Perhaps, but let’s have a look at what science has to say about this.

-----------------------to be continued-------------------
<!--
